Skin care types

AURY pieces are made from natural materials that may show slight variations in colour, texture and grain. These characteristics are part of the leather's unique identity and make each piece slightly one of a kind.

With proper care, your piece can maintain its appearance and quality for longer.

1. Everyday care

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat and moisture. Protect the piece from contact with perfumes, alcohol, cosmetics and greasy substances.

Do not overload bags, wallets or cardholders. Avoid rough surfaces and objects that may scratch the leather.

2. Cleaning and care

For smooth leather, remove dust with a soft, clean, dry cloth. For surface dirt, and only on leather with a protective finish, you can use a slightly damp cloth. Test it first on a discreet area and allow it to dry.

Do not machine wash or immerse the piece in water. Avoid detergents, wipes and solvents.

Tailor your care to the material:

  • Smooth and grained leather: use only products suitable for the type of leather and finish.
  • Soft leather, including sheep leather: avoid pressure and friction. Do not rub to try to remove scratches.
  • Vegetable-tanned leather: may develop a patina over time. Take particular care with water and products that may darken it.
  • Suede and nubuck: remove dust gently with a dedicated brush while the piece is dry. Do not use a damp cloth, creams or oils.
  • Fur leather: avoid moisture, friction and abrasive brushes. Do not apply creams.
  • Embossed or metallic finishes: clean only with a soft, dry cloth, without rubbing or applying products.
  • Braided leather: remove dust delicately, without pulling the strips. Avoid the accumulation of liquids between them.

Before applying any maintenance or protection product, check its compatibility and test it on a discreet area. Even a colourless product can alter the tone or finish.

3. If the piece gets wet

Absorb the water with a light-coloured, soft cloth without rubbing. Allow it to dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, away from sunlight and heat sources. Store it only when it is completely dry.

4. Storage

Store the piece in a breathable dust bag in a dry, well-ventilated place. Avoid closed plastic bags.

In bags, place white, soft, unprinted paper to help maintain the shape. Avoid placing weight on the pieces, leaving them hanging by their straps for long periods and tight folds in belts.

5. Colour care

To preserve the beauty of your piece, avoid prolonged contact and friction with contrasting fabrics, especially dark denim.

Clothing can transfer colour to the leather, and the leather to the clothing, especially with moisture and heat. Take particular care with light-coloured bags.

If grease, ink or colour transfer stains occur, avoid rubbing or trying various products. Look for specialised cleaning products.
